Well, in this classic 17-day trip, you and your family will get to experience quite a few of the amazing wonders that South Africa has to offer a family of adventurers, indeed, South Africa is one of the best destinations in the world for family travel. Explore Cape Town, the Cape Winelands, Route 62 & the Klein Karoo, the Garden Route and end off with a malaria-free safari, staying at family-friendly accommodations throughout. 

Day 1: Arrival at Cape Town

After arriving at the airport and picking-up your rental car, self-drive to your accommodation. Then it is time to explore Cape Town. Must see attractions include Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront and Robben Island.

Day 2: Cape Town

We recommend a self drive of the Cape Peninsular including Kalk Bay, Simonstown, Cape Point, Noordhoek and Hout Bay.

Day 3: Cape Town

Today you could visit Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens as well as a City tour covering some of the major attractions.

Day 4: Cape Town

Last full day in Cape Town. Today you could try something a little more adventurous such as Paragliding or Sand boarding, perhaps even Shark Cage Diving.

Day 5: Cape Town - Stellenbosch

Morning in at leisure. After check-out, self-drive to Stellenbosch, located in the Winelands.

Day 6: Stellenbosch

Enjoy the Winelands and visit the vineyards in Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl. Some of the wine farms also offer non-alcoholic tastings as well as play parks for the children.

Day 7: Stellenbosch - Oudtshoorn

After check-out, self-drive to Oudtshoorn, also known as the ostrich-capital and part of the Garden Route.

You should definitely visit an ostrich farm as well as the Cango Caves. A few other attractions well worth a visit are Meercat Magic and Cango Wildlife Ranch.

Day 9: Oudtshoorn - Plettenberg Bay

After check-out, self-drive to Plettenberg Bay, via the stunning Garden Route, stopping at a few places along the way.

Plettenberg Bay is known for its beautiful beaches, and numerous family activities including a boat trip with ocean safaris, Monkeyland, Birds of Eden, Jakulani Wildlife Sanctuary and many more.

Drive out to Tsitsikama for some incredible adventure opportunities.

After check out, self-drive to Amakhala Leeuwenbosch Country House in Amakhala Game Reserve, where you will be able to spot the Big-5 in a malaria free area.

Your stay at includes 2 safari activities of choice: A game drive, a guided walk, a river cruise or a night drive. Moreover, a special children programme is available.
