This 12-day trip starts and ends in Johannesburg where you will hop on board the most luxurious train in the world and recapture the romance of a bygone era. Take a unique train journey through the heart of South Africa to Cape Town where you will experience the opulent elegance and Victorian charm of the iconic Rovos Rail train.  You will then have 3 nights in the Mother City to explore this first class, cosmopolitan city that uniquely combines beauty and nature with history and culture. And what better way to end off your journey than on an exclusive and private safari at Tswalu Kalahari? Owned by the Oppenheimer family, Tswalu is South Africa’s largest private game reserve in an area of the Kalahari that stretches over 100,000 hectares and yet accepts no more than thirty guests at a time! You will have 4 nights to discover the beauty of this vast landscape, its diverse wildlife and the serenity of what may well be South Africa’s last great wilderness.

Day 1: Arrival at Johannesburg – Pretoria

After arrival in Johannesburg, your journey begins. You will be picked up and receive the necessary documents for your trip. After that your transfer will take you to the Capital Park Station in Pretoria where you are going to board the luxurious Rovos Rail train. Final destination: Cape Town.

Day 2: Pretoria – Kimberley

The Rovos Rail will give you the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful surrounding of South-Africa. In the morning there is a short 2.5 hour stop in Kimberley.

Day 3: Kimberley – Matjiesfontein – Cape Town

After your second night at the Rovos Train, there is an early morning stop in Matjiesfontein for just over 2 hours. The train will arrive in Cape Town around 18.00. Your transfer will take you to your hotel.

Day 4: Cape Town

Full day at leisure in Cape Town. There are many things to see and do in Cape Town but you should definitely climb Table Mountain and visit the most popular tourist spot of Africa: V&A Waterfront. From this point you can take the ferry to Robben Island, go shopping or just enjoy the view.

Day 5: Cape Town

Full day at leisure in Cape Town. The weather in Cape Town will not often disappoint you, so use this opportunity to go to the beach, or visit the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

Day 6: Cape Town - Tswalu Kalahari Game Reserve

After check-out at the Clarendon Bantry Bay your transfer will take you to Cape Town International Airport where you will board you flight to Tswalu Kalahari Game Reserve, located in the malaria free Northern Cape of South-Africa.

Tswalu Kalahari Reserve is the ultimate safari experience. The game-viewing opportunities are magnificent, activities such as bird-watching are always guided with an expert.  Altogether, Tswalu offers unforgettable safaris and in addition they offer special interest courses.

All good things come to an end and unfortunately also your experience of a lifetime in South-Africa. After check-out, you will fly to OR Tambo International Airport. From there, you will depart with an International Flight back home.
